Job Interview

Is an individual event that recognizes participants who uses family and consumer sciences related skills to develop a portfolio, participate in an interview and communicate a personal understanding of a job requirements.  (Junior, Senior, and Occupational).

Project: 1.Participants will apply for a job that matches their current skills and relates to their career goals. The participants are to use
factual information to prepare a portfolio and go through an interview. 

2.The portfolio is a compilation of materials expressing your work and should be contained in a notebook, binder, folder, or
carrying case. 
Portfolio should include:
0-6 divider pages 
cover sheet 
job specification sheet 
business communication pages 
job understanding pages 
career development planning pages 
up to 5 examples of special skills
Presentation: 1.Participants will be evaluated on demonstration knowledge and interview skills: 
attire and grooming 
communication 
knowledge of job

2.The presentation will consist of: 
completing of a standard application form 
a portfolio to support the position for which are applying 
interview with evaluators
Tips:  1.Special skills should be 5 different skills. 
2.Look at each judge when answering questions. 
3.Total time for this event is approximately 50 minutes
