Chapter Service Project

Is a team event that recognizes chapters that develop and implement an in-depth service project that makes a worthwhile contribution to families, schools, and communities, and/or family and consumer sciences education.  (Junior, Senior, and Occupational).

Manual
  1. Contents of manual should be in a FCCLA scrapbook obtained from national emblematic supplier
  2. Manual should include: 
  • Project identification page
  • Divider pages
  • Content pages (description of project on 8 ½" x 11" paper)

 

Display
Display should include:
  • Project identification page (attached or not)
  • Freestanding display with a description of the project
  • Props used in presentation must fit in the dimensions of display

 

Presentation:
  1. Participants will have 30 minutes to set up displays for manual.
  2. The presentation will include:
  •  5-10 minute oral presentation
  • manual or display to support presentation
  • Evaluator’s questions

 

Tips:
  1. Requests for a table or electrical outlet must be made through the advisor & ahead of time.
  2. Manuals or displays should be factual while remaining eye catching.
  3. Content is more important than the actual deliverance of the speech.
